Firstly, Happy New Year MNHQ!
Now, on to the serious stuff.....
When you make the decision to pull a thread, is it generally your policy not to inform the OP that the thread is being deleted?
I started a legitimate thread the other day, asking the whereabouts of a poster, which is a pretty standard sort of enquiry. I was quite specific about the wording of the OP as a I suspected that the person in question may have left because of YOUKNOWWHAT and I didn't want to go into a discussion about that, just wanted to know if the rumours were true.
Anyhoo, I suspect the thread descended into a discussion about YKW after I had left it, and it was therefore deleted, which I can understand. But it would have been nice if I, as the OP, was notified that this was going to be happening / had happened.
(I was going to add something about threads mysteriously vanishing potentially having a censorship impact, but thought that may be a bit OTT)
So, is this BAU or is it just because you are fed up with the whole prawngate discussion?
