Mumsnet has always eaten up my battery. Pokemon Go is worse. I now carry several battery packs with me if i am going to be out for a while with no access to a charger. It is the phones problem not Mumsnets problem.

Thanks - I just think it uses a lot of power for what I do - read a couple of threads. Yes Pokémon go uses lots of battery but that's the location services & is expected . I might just try using the mumsnet mobile website then.

Yes I had the same problem (iPhone 6s) I've deleted the app now and am back on the mobile site.

I'm having this issue too, my phone also gets really hot when I use the app. Shame though it's putting me off using the app as much. This is my battery usage.

This is an issue for me too, thought my battery was running out quicker than usual! 49% used by MN app in last 24 hours!

Mine is same! I have recently updated to iOS 10 and have an iPhone 6s. It's never been this bad!

I've stopped using the app because of this and am back to the mobile site on safari. It's a pity as I quite like the app!

I thought my battery was running down faster than usual.

Will it be ok if I close the app down completely when I'm not using it? iPhone 6s here, with iOS 10.0.2

Same problem here too. Only the Talk app seems to eat through my battery and my phone becomes red hot. If I don't use the app for a day, the battery is great. And this has only been since the iOS upgrade, it was fine before then.

May do what other posters do and get rid of it and use the mobile site instead

I flagged this when iOS 10 hit. It was far better before then. It's just insane ATM which annoys me because it's nicer to use the app than the mobile site.

I can't see why it needs to use so much battery to essentially access a text forum when my google maps sat nav using gps uses half that.

I'd also like an answer, has anyone reported the thread so they see it?

Hi all,

Apologies for the late reply - we will flag this with the app team and get back to you once we know more.

There's a new iOS 10 update just out. It might be worth reassessing in light of that?

Update! This is something the app team are very aware of, they've been working on a fix which they hope (pending approval from Apple) will be released soon. We're sorry we can't be of more help in the meantime, please do bear with us.
