Faulty margarine/divorce thread

meditrina · 27/05/2014 08:54

Is this all part of the general crankiness?

I started this thread about th link between margarine and divorce yesterday.

I didn't see it in Active just after posting it, and thought it had simply dropped down quickly. It wasn't in Unanswered Messages, but no-one else had posted on it. I posted on it again this morning (checking the timings) and again, not in Active Convos.

Now, it's possible that no-one will ever find this thread interesting enough to want to post on it, and I shall continue as Billie-no-mates.

But threads aren't meant to be shy and never on view, surely?

You have posted it in Science and Nature club - you might not have S +N c in your chosen topics hence not seeing your thread?

Forgettable · 27/05/2014 09:02

Also lots of posters might have opted out of S+N c too

meditrina · 27/05/2014 09:09

Yes, I have not hidden S&N club, and see other threads there.

I know others may not see the topic, and it's not the lack of responses that bothers me (as I feel overlooked on here all the time )

It is that the thread is not appearing in Active. Which I thought might be a fault.

Oh RIGHT gotcha!

AmyMumsnet · 27/05/2014 17:26

Hi there,

That sounds odd. You could try posting on it again and seeing if it appears in active once you've done so?

meditrina · 27/05/2014 18:23

Thanks for getting on to this! I've just tried posting again, and it still doesn't seem to be in Active.

And I have been back into customise, and S&N club is definitely in my "included" topics.

Gremlin thread or snafu topic? Or just me missing something bleedin' obvious?

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 27/05/2014 20:49

I posted on the thread earlier and it didn't show up in 'active' then either.

'Tis a gremlin thread, I reckon.

RowanMumsnet · 28/05/2014 10:59

Oh dear yes, it does look like a gremlin thread. Would you mind starting an identical one in S+N and we can see if the same thing happens? (Blame us for the repetition if anyone asks...)

meditrina · 28/05/2014 19:29

Seen and about to do!

OP posts:
meditrina · 28/05/2014 19:31

As requested on the site issues thread I'm about to start a duplicate, and see if it is gremlin free.

OP posts:
meditrina · 28/05/2014 19:41

Oops - trying to tie all three threads together and posting onto the wrong ones!

I restarted the thread at 19:36, and it did not appear in active, not in "unanswered messages'.

I'll post on it again to add clicky links, but not yet (in case leaving it missing from unanswered helps you diagnose).

RowanMumsnet · 29/05/2014 10:07

Hmmm... from my entirely unscientific testing, it looks like S&N threads aren't appearing in Active at all Shock

We'll get someone to have a look

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/05/2014 10:26

Thanks Rowan.

I luffs S&N.

meditrina · 29/05/2014 10:33

Thank you Rowan!

And encouraging Cake for you and Tech

OP posts:
RowanMumsnet · 29/05/2014 10:44

OK, we've toggled the relevant button - do you want to test again?

Sorry about this, no idea why it was set like that...

Littlefish · 29/05/2014 10:45

I have never seen Science and Nature threads in Active. Ever. In fact, I didn't even know such as category existed!

RowanMumsnet · 29/05/2014 10:51
Blush
meditrina · 29/05/2014 10:57

Yippee!

I have just posted on it, and it's there in Active.

More Cake ?

(I hope no other topics are thus afflicted).

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 29/05/2014 11:10

I think this thread proves conclusively that there is a correlation between presence of Cake and absence of gremlins.
