Why am I stuck on landscape mode on iPad?

Only for mn chat...I am sorry if I am just being stupid but it's REALLY irritating me. Everything else I read is portrait.

Can anyone point me to the possibly bleeding obvious way to solve this?

Double click, swipe all the way left, click on the round arrow.

Same. I thought it was just the way it was set up.

On home screen swipe up with one finger from bottom of page
Press the rotation lock symbol (padlock) to unlock
Swipe the menu back down
Turn the iPad and the screen should rotate
If you want to lock it into portrait repeat and re-lock the screen in the new position

Annie I don't understand. Homescreen on mn? I know how to swap generally (ie on every other site) but not here. When I swipe up from bottom of screen I get the shortcut iPad commands but I don't think that is what you mean....or is it?

App. The website was too hard to read as tiny once the ad banners run out!

Sorry, I didn't realise you meant MN site specifically. My instructions were general for iPad.

I think the app is landscape and you can't change it.

I use the mobile web site with my ipad and it's fine. I don't seem to get any adverts.

Yes, the iPad app has always been landscape-only - one reason I hardly ever bother with it - I find the ordinary Safari ( the desktop, not the mobile version) much easier to use.

Aha 'mobile website' - maybe that's what I need? I think I was on the desktop website, I will go again and see if I can spot a mobile website option? It's the set piece ads, the banner that runs down the right hand side - if reading a longer thread the banner runs out and the messages go left to right and if I am zoomed in I need to zoom out again but the writings too small....

Buggering old age/ rubbish eyes?!
