DD is in Y7. Bright enough but not an academic genius.
Homework is a battle for her: she will spend an hour saying she doesn't understand, needs help, before actually doing it, even if it's only a 10 minute task. It's an anxiety thing (some ASD traits under observation at the moment).
I'm wondering about Kumon: I know that she is reaching a point in school where the mental maths/rote learning thing isn't so important, but developing a habit of sitting down, ploughing through, and then reviewing own work seems like a great lesson to learn?
Does anyone have experience of this aspect of the programme? Thanks
