ALL of dds friends have now moved to a different school

DDs school is one of the best in the area GCSE wise and had a brilliant reputation previously but has gone through a difficult time the last six months including one very serious incident. As a result a lot of children have moved schools including now ALL of quiet and shy dds friends. I am totally gutted for her. The school they have moved is a free school, has no GCSE record as yet and had a big scandal relating to it's sixth form teaching which hit the media which is really putting me off!
I really do not know what to do for the best but dd was massively struggling socially anyway and is struggling very much now with having this constant countdown week of her friends being excited for a new school and leaving :(

I feel you should consider moving her to a different school wher she could be happier either the free school or a different one. What does she think?

I honestly think at that age friends are very important, my dd moved to a very good 6th form college whilst all of her friends decided to stay at her under achieving 6th form at school, she was so unhapoy and lonely on her own we felt she would fail all of her A levelsif she stayed. Moved her back after the 1 st term and never looked back, dd was with her friends, was motivated and hapoy, she did fantastic in her A levels and is now at a RG uni.

What year is she in?
If she is in Y10 or Y11 then I would keep her where she is until she has done her GCSEs.
If she's Y9 or younger then I would consider moving her.

She is in year eight. Academically she is doing well for her ability and making progress, she does have some learning needs.

Speak to the Pastoral team. They must be aware that they are haemorrhaging, what plans have they got to persuade pupils to stay?

Is she involved in extra-curricular clubs or societies?

I am suprised they haven't sent a letter or had a meeting to reassure tbh. Dds year seems to have lost a massive amount of pupils.

Yes we have started her at a martial art and cadets to help her make friends. She doesn't see any other child in the holidays. It is quite sad :(

You say she was struggling socially anyway, do you mean before her friends left?

She has some learning needs which means she struggles a bit socially anyway. She hasn't really made any friends outside of her sen group.
