Bedford School/Bedford Modern for 6th Form any advice?

Hi we are thinking about moving our DS for sixth form, he is bright, interested in science subjects, he is quite quiet and self contained, calls himself a geek, (his has mild ASD) likes warhammer, gaming, he is not the social party type and is not sporty.

We have been looking at the Bedford Schools and would like advice, they seem quite different looking at the websites, he currently goes to a small relaxed mixed private school and has never had single sex education so Bedford School looks rather formal, but he is focused and has been complaining about some of the casual elements of his current school being really annoying (i.e. low level class disruption).

Any advice on these schools would be most helpful.
