Year 7 Grammar School places in Buckinghamshire

There is a gathering head of steam by Buckinghamshire parents that some of the County's Grammar Schools have unallocated paces for year 7 in 2015. This is caused by Buckinghamshire children not attaining the pass mark and out of county children electing not to travel into Bucks in the numbers required to fill the places. The number of spaces reported in my local paper are: John Hampden Grammar (boys), High Wycombe - 29, Chesham Grammar - 19, Burnham Grammar - 11, Aylesbury High School (girls)- 11 and Sir Henry Floyd, Aylesbury - 29. So, if you live within travelling distance, is late application possible? Is it worth it?

The acticle I saw quoted those numbers for the current year 7 not next years intake.

There have always been Yr7 spaces at certain of the Bucks grammars - the 'exam tourists' haven't really caused that much change if you look at the numbers over the years.

If your child's been tested once you have to wait for 12+ testing, the admission policies don't allow a test for mid-year entry unless you move into the area.
