Hi

Can anybody help please? We are thinking of moving to Chorleywood for St Clement Danes. This is a very popular school. Does anybody know if we moved to Chorleywood, would definitely get a place on distance rules? Or is there a problem with first choice secondary school places being allocated?

Thanks

The school website gives details of criteria for admission and distance is sixth on the list after siblings and those admitted under the 10 % selection rules - 10% music and 10% academic ability. Testing is at the end of year 5 in SW Herts. The partially selective schools in SW Herts are increasingly hard to get into and test scores are high and increasing.
There is a Herts 11+ forum which discuses this and other issues which might interest you.
There are new free schools in the area, one already open, another planned to cope with the shortage of places.
Good luck!
