Hi Everyone
I'de really appreciate some advice - my teen has had to move school to retake her AS levels and I visited all the sixth form colleges in London. One particular place insisted I paid a deposit to guarantee her a place in September. WHen her results came through and she decided to retake her AS year entirely she choose a different school and now the school are demanding a term's fees in lieu of notice - over 6K. Has anyone else had any experience of this kind of situation. I'm used to private schools asking for a deposit to register your interest, but not then being liable for a whole term's fees. It just is the last straw given she has to retake the year anyway which is cripplingly expensive..... any advice appreciated..

You'll need to read what you signed.
Surprised you are having to pay the notice period when she never started.
Retaking at a crammer is fun :-)
