Visual processing disorders: where do I go for help and advice for DS, who is just starting Year 10 in a new school?

DS has been privately educated to date, and has been happy. Now his selective high performing school would like to wash their hands of him because he is going to bring down their GCSE averages. Diagnosed in year 4/5 as having such a radical split of ability that it is almost off the scale, his oral/aural scores are 75%-ish; written test results anywhere from 20-50%. Not conventionally dyslexic, he reads and comprehends well-- but struggles to write. Planning a shift to local comprehensive in Y10 (ie this Septemeber) with less than two weeks to get it organised and to top up with tutoring as necessary. Any advice or help much appreciated please.... Location is rural SW England, so we cannot assume abundance of private options or vast choice of tutors.......
