DD1 has just been offered a place at our preferred secondary school, just weeks after starting yr7!
Now the joys of buying a new school uniform, again!!
Went from 8th on the list, with no movement for three months to getting the place today.
Now am filled with apprehension about breaking the news to DD. Both DH & I are convinced it's the right school for her, am hoping she can see that too, and not just focusing on leaving her friends (although one of her new friends is an old baby friend who has also just been offered a place at the new school, so hoping that might soften the blow)
Such a relief after failing at appeal all those months ago.

Thank you, we are very relieved. Mind you, some comments have already been made on FB about how can I move her now she's so settled. But these are from parents who, given the choice, would also swap schools.
Am going to have to be thick skinned, both about their reaction and DDs, because we are so sure it's the right move.

my dd got in from the waiting list too. We got a place two days before the end of term but I was prepared start whenever the place came up. We weren't expecting it in year 7 tbh - she started at 17th went up & down between 22nd & 26th & didn't move until we got the phone call. It is so unpredictable.
