Is this odd behaviour?

DD was bullied by a very controlling girl earlier on this year. Thanks to the great advice I received on MN I contacted the school and it was resolved.

DD has missed school on a few occasions recently due to some ongoing health issues and apparently while she was away the bully said that she hoped DD would die.

A bit of background about the bully - This girl has difficulty in accepting that she is ever wrong and massively overreacts if she is told off by anyone. She bears grudges forever, can't bear not to be the centre of attention and always turns any conversation about anyone else into it being all about her. I don't know if this is relevent, but this sums up her personality.

Do 11 year old girls usually say things like this or is this bully being a bit OTT?

Some 11 year olds do and many more don't.

I am related to an adult like that unfortunately, some people describe it as narcissistic personality disorder.

I would tell the school quite honestly and keep them on her case. My DD was bullied late last year and the bully continued saying unpleasant things after the school said they had resolved it. I made a formal complaint when the school refused to follow up and the girls family were spoken to by a deputy head - no incidents since.
