Anyone with kids at Ipswich School?

I have a bright daughter at a local state school yr 7, & she's already complaining about being bored in classes, rarely has any homework. Her very generous grandparents have offered to fund her privately. I feel she would do well there but wanted to know more about how happy the children are there, if there is much after school activity? She is an only child & her happiness is most important than academic achievement.

I have a couple of friends with dd's there. They are both very happy, it has a good reputation and from what I hear it's a friendly, close knit school.

Thanks knittedslippersx3, that what I thought. being new to the area I unfortunately don't have any local friends who can help!

If you are in/near ipswich you do have more options than just Ipswich. There is St Josephs, Ipswich High School, Ipswich Girls, Royal Hospital School and Woodbridge. Take a look around them and see what you think. A friend sends her dd1 to the girls school as she is very academic and the girls are very competitive but says that it won't suit her dd2 as she is less academic.

Thanks meboo, she has discounted girls only schools, which I am quite happy about. We have considered the others, Woodbridge was great but wouldn't work distance wise, Ipswich just seemed to feel better.
