Broadwater school godalming - good for ASD?

Posted this in SN, but no response so trying my luck here!

Moving to the area with son, nearly 14, who has Aspergers. He's used to a big London mainstream school, so I'm looking for a smallish school with (fingers crossed) a calmer atmosphere, and better support for his social and learning difficulties - though don't want him to coast as he is capable of getting decent GCSEs. Broadwater has a speech and language unit attached. Does anyone have any feedback they could give me about it? Thanks!

Go and visit the school, by reputation it doesn't have a calm atmosphere, but I have no personal experience.

Is a very small school, with much improved discipline and virtually no bullying, despite the reputation. Think they are quite good at accomodating different needs (no direct exp.of this though).

Coasting though may be a concern . With DS, am getting vibes that they are content that he is a safe C+ student. Would like him to be given far more of a push - have now told him he will have to push himself if he wants to do his best.

Mummytime - thanks for feedback. This is what I had heard too, but I think I'll need to visit to find out.

Danellasmum - ditto the coasting. For DS it's a delicate job of persuading him to do more, without making him feel stressed. It helps when your peers are enthusiastic whereas at current school in some subjects he knows he's better than his classmates so doesn't bother going the extra mile! I like the small numbers and absence of bullying, though !
