Sex straight away..is this the new thing?

Friend met someone NYE in a pub. Within 3 hours she had slept with him. Thursday night she said he was coming over at 7pm..by 7.50 pm he had gone. I said that's quick ...she said yep I sent him to the pub with his friends happy ;-) So basically had Sex and left .. Is this the normal? Is this dating in this day and age?
