Is it possible to find love in your 50's?

So having been divorced twice and had a few other useless relationships with useless men I have come to the conclusion that in order to get over my self esteem issues I need to go to counselling and work through this.
I'd like to think I'll end my life with a nice mature, sensible man who will take care of me and I'll take care of him but I'm despairing of ever finding such a gem or if I do getting recognising him.
So far all my choices have been very bad and it's not even as if I go for a certain type, they have all been very different.
How do you go about finding the one later on in life? I can't face dating websites, they are full of con merchants.

You need to learn to love yourself first. Old cliche but, so true.
Look after number 1 & enjoy life & don't wait to depend on someone else to look after you.
Hope all goes well

Are you me? I'm in the same position, just ending my 2nd marriage.1st husband was when very young and he became an alcoholic.2nd was outwardly much 'better', made sure he wasn't a drinker but I think that made me blind to his other faults.

I feel I need to value myself more and throw in the towel when there are signs of red flags.I think I give the benefit of doubt and assume people must be kind underneath.I feel I must have been sheltered/naive as I've not been good at knowing men.

I enjoyed the years I had being single so I know it is possible, however the 2nd marriage had been emotionally and financially destructive so I am having to rebuild in my 50's which is daunting.

It's very early days for me but I can't imagine I would do online dating.I hope to pursue interests and meet people (men & women) that way.

Definitely possible. But I have found that if you go looking for love, you won't find it. And that includes OLD. Going down that route is the way to be caught out with con merchants,as you have said. I have never tried OLD,but know numerous people that have, and only ONE has had any success. All the others had bad experiences with people who lied about their age, relationship status, careers, and generally mucked them about. That is why I have steered clear of it. But I was lucky. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time when my DP of nearly 4 years approached me and asked me out.
