Texting style has changed- cheating or am I being neurotic!?

I realise this does sound completely ridiculous, but hopefully you will hear me out. I'm intrigued to know what you think.
My boyfriend has always had a very standard 'old man' attitude to texts. Short to the point answers, the odd kiss on occasion and always says he's a bit of a technophobe and isn't really into the whole emoji thing (might send the odd smiley face)
Recently his texting style has completely changed and it sounds ridiculous but I'm worried that he may be learning this texting style from another woman? Suddenly he's sending me emojis of all sorts which signify things (peaches for bum, lipstick marks for kisses etc etc)
Does this sound suspicious or has he just suddenly decided to get with the times??

Not that suspicious. Also the new iOS update (if he has an iPhone) offers emojis as substitutes for words now in predictive text. I've been using them more, too.

I had the same experience and later found my suspicions were correct. Our spidey senses are sometimes, but not often, wrong.

Hmm I would personally be suspicious, yes. However, I'm naturally suspicious anyway. I once got a bit Hmm when DP sent me spaces in between kisses at the end of a text, because they never did that before. I'm pretty sure it wasn't anything, but it did get me wondering.

OP, how is he acting generally? Secretive with his phone? Working longer hours?...

You're looking for something that isn't there

Has he just updated his iPhone?

Check his phone when he is asleep/in the shower. If he isn't leaving it lying around, I think that spells trouble. Me and DH leave our phones laying about. No secrets.

Haha I'd assume he'd updated his iPhone

I use emojis anyway, but I definitely have used more since the iOS 10 update and the predictive emoji options.

Unless you have any other evidence or odd behavior from him , and he's texting in his new style to you, I'm not sure why that's a problem, ask him, see what he says.

My 72 yr old Mum has been using more emojis since she updated her iPhone and it's offered in the predictive text, I'm not in the least suspicious of anything. Smile

Personally I'd be a bit suspicious but as others have said ios10 is promoting emoji use as predicative text.

Have you any other grounds for concern?

This wouldn't even occur to me. He's either had an update or just learnt to use emojis

I've just had an update and autocorrect suggests emojis for me - I am definitely using them more now!
