please can someone tell me how this works?
If you registered on this site say 2 years ago does it automatically update your age?

Im just trying to find out if the man I have been seeing for the last 3 years recently put an ad on here or if its an old advert... before I confront him with the evidence...The age that the ad says is his current age..

I honestly don't know but I would imagine all dating sites you put your date of birth into must update you don't have to update it yourself - it's just on there

I don't know about the age but you can search by most recently online can't you? I think it is last 24 hours, past week, past month etc. That should give you an idea.
I could be wrong. I haven't been on POF for a long time.

You might have to log on a pc and get a profile to see that bit. Not sure it's on the mobile app 'last seen'

It updates my date of birth. It automatically updated my age after my birthday.

Although if he's showing up in searches, he must have been active somewhat recently. The search automatically filters by last online. So if you think of all of the forgotten profiles over 3 years, it would take you a very, very long time to come across his. Unless your criteria is very tight - eg certain height, ace, race, within a certain radius.

Radius matters if you put exact area in perhaps and it's a small place?

yes it updates age hence why sometimes profile details say one age which is different to profile heading details. Does he look different on pics? maybe he's wearing clothing which he's had since you've known him which would make it a recent pic updated since you've known him ?

If you do a search for people his age in your area, it shows up in the search results when he was last online.
Unless it was longer than a month ago in which case it doesn't. But if he shows up after the people that were online within the month you'll know that at least it was longer ago than that.

You can search on POF using 'last online' filter, or something.

That would be more reliable than age.

On Match, age updated automatically as it was part of registration process, but if people had referred to it in their profile, that obviously didn't.

(They should have looked more closely though because I always thought it looked a bit tragic to read, "So here I am, having reached the big 4-0 and still single..." type profile comments, only to see that they were 44...)

I know my friends found me on there a month ago and I only logged on once or twice 2 years ago

Yes,it does automatically update age.
So it could be old profile, just never deleted.
As pps said, watch over few days and search by recently online..Because even if he's not online and not active ,profile still shows up(if you use specific username search).
Without actually seeing his profile active( I think it shows green circle-means online at the moment) you risk confronting him and he would just reply: oh but I don't go online, just forgot to delete my profile ages ago.
