OK, so my boyfriend and I have been seeing each other for 18 months and have had a great relationship until now.
He is his DF full time carer (24/7) after losing his DM 15 months ago and I've been my parents carer ( or skivvy depending on my/ their mood) for around 2 yrs. But just recently I've felt like he put everything (including his hobby) before me. We only spend 2 nights a week together (at his) and occasionally a full day but I kept in touch via calls and texts. But over the last month he's asked me not to call at nights (always called at same time just to say goodnight) but to text and for the past week or so I don't get a text back and its really getting to me....
Another this was that he said he wanted to propose to me when we where a year but then decided the time wasn't right and if I ask him he say's he'll get round to it, daft I know but I'm now thinking maybe he doesn't want to be with me but due to his circumstances I'm the only option he has!!
Aibu to want a text message back, or a random call to say he's thinking of me??

YANBU. If you want a boyfriend who is attentive, enthusiastic and prioritises your relationship, that's a pretty reasonable ambition. If he's falling short, it doesn't make him a bad person but it probably makes him the wrong person.

I understand that with his commitments with his DF & DS (from a previous marriage) that I come further down the line for his attention. I would just like to know he cares for me as much as I do him..

He probably does have good reasons for ignoring you, but that doesn't mean you have to tolerate being ignored. As I say.... someone doesn't have to be a bad person to be the wrong person. There are other men

Whatever his reasons, it comes down to this - do you really want to be with someone who can't be bothered to text you goodnight, even when you've asked?

I'm sorry, but from the outside, this one has run its course.
