I can't get in touch with my dad...

I don't really know why I'm posting this or if it's even In the right place but I had a phone call off my mum this morning saying she can't get hold of my dad and it's got me really worried.

He's just started a new job in Dubai last week and she spoke to him yesterday morning and he said that last night he was going to go for a wander round to get his bearings and she hasn't heard from him since.

She tried to skype him as it's saying he's online but there's no answer, we've tried both his mobiles, one is off and the other ringing out, he hasn't been on what'sapp since Monday and he's not getting any Facebook messages either.

I just don't really know what to do, he's the kind of man that ALWAYS has his phone near as he's worked away in various places for years so it's always been easy to contact him. It's just not like him and now Its going round and round in my head that something's happened.

He only moved into his new apartment the other day so we have no address, no phone number and we don't know anyone that he works with.

I don't even know why I'm posting this, I just need some reassurance... Confused

Do you know what company he's working for? I'd try getting in touch with them. Hope you hear from him soon.

Yes we do, my mum tried to phone this morning but it's the weekend so nobody was picking up, I'll keep trying though.

Might be better in chat, OP.

Yes, contact the workplace ASAP. This must be really worrying - hopefully he ran out of battery power and you'll hear from him soon.

If you don't hear from him soon, consider calling the British embassy?

I'm sure there's a simple explanation, but understand why you're so worried :(

OP, today is the first day of the working week here in the UAE. We're also 4 hours ahead of you now so offices/companies etc will be opening very soon if not already.

If there's anything I can do to help please PM me. I can put a call out on a very widely read forum or on my own FB page to reach my friends in Dubai.

I'm hoping this is not necessary because you've heard from him by now.
