I am quite bothered by the way the DV storyline in Corrie has been handled. It's hard enough convincing women that they will be believed, and for a man to come forward must take terrific strength as there is still a certain 'stigma' attached that a man must be a wimp for it to happen etc. It seems they are discouraging men from speaking out. There's just something about the whole thing that feels.... I don't know what word I need!
Also the way he is being prevented from even supervised access seems like it's been written by F4J. Kirsty is their ideal campaign face.
I'm avoiding watching now. I just feel the truth should have come out already. Anyone, man or woman should know there is support out there, they will be believed and they won't lose their children if they speak out about DV.
