Husband gone!!

Hi again. I'm hoping someone out there could maybe advise on the following as I'm getting conflicting messages and can't find anything concrete on the net.

My husband has left us for OW nearly a month ago. He's not being particularly pleasant or magnanimous with regard to looking after his children. Tends to think only of himself!! My solicitor has asked for proof of the OW earnings but my husband is under the impression that his solicitor has advised that her earnings won't be taken into account. Could anyone advise please as surely if they are living together then both their earnings count!! Why would a husband want to make their family and wife of 20 years go without? OW doesn't want to give her name address or proof of earnings - says she wants nothing to do with it! What a joke. Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

I don't think her earnings have anything to do with it, do they?

I don't understand why the OW would have any financial responsibility for your children? Confused

they do have something to do with it if he marries her. My cousins maintenance payments increased after he got married but prior to that his wife's income wasn't an issue.

Actually a Form E does take into account your partner's income if you live with them.

I have a friend who married a man with two kids, and it riled her forever that her earnings were taken into account and indeed, went towards the kids. She is a great person and was good to the kids, but I remember a bit of miffedness about the money.
