Yes I like her. I've half-listened to the serial as I have the book and want to read it first. In fact I've a hole set of AT novels on my shelf - they were cheap off Book People. I've read the 'grown ups' one and another. Sorry, memory is dire tonight. And there was another serialisation last year on R4. One set in a café .....

Anne Tyler is a fabulous author, I've read all her books - her characters are the story. She reminds me of the late great Carole Shields, another wonderful author.

I have just finished "A Spool of Blue Thread" on Audible and I really enjoyed it. You are right nothing much happens except normal family life and the characters are superb.

I do find the endings of her books very open and inconclusive, which irritates me, but not enough to stop me reading her books.
