Please help Im so confused! Car seat and travel system.....

Ok so expecting dc2.

We have a pram from ds and a buggy too, to be honest I hate the buggy as its so huge and cumbersome but cant afford anything.

However, I hate the carseat we had. Maxi Cosi priorifix (4yrs old). reasons I hated it - our seat belts in the back that were used to fix it in akways stick (garage cant fix) and it was nightmare getting it in and out, ds's head always lolled forwards in it.

What I want now....

an infant car seat

isofix for ease of getting in and out

safety / which rating to be best

maybe a nice colour but dont care really

one that you can buy wheels to attach it to for ease of taking ds to nursery etc and not having to use big pram for few mins

maybe, if possible something that comes with a rear facing buggy that you can use earlyish, though not obviously that I would want a newborn in anything other than carseat for short periods and lie flat pram (already got) for any longer.

Hope this makes sense, I really dont understand all this stuff!!

when you say priorifix- you do realise that it is not a from birth car seat?

I would say a Maxi-Cosi cabriofix or Pebble with isofix base with the quinny Zapp frame.

Sorry maybe it wasnt priorifix, I cant remember the name of it now. Anyways it came as part of travel system, definitely from birth. Hate it!

Can you buy just wheels for the maxi cosi bariofix?

Dont think we can afford a quinny

iCandy Cherry will take a Maxi-Cosi Easy-fix (car seat with isofix base) with the right adapters. It is a rear facing pushchair that is very light and nippy. You can get them quite cheaply second-hand on eBay. The buggy seat or car seat (or even carrycot if you want) are interchangeable on the chassis.

we're saying Quinny Zapp, not Buzz.
Zapp is superlightweight, folds up so small you can put it in the overhead locker in a plane.
with the car seat, it really is a good travel system, like a set of wheels, yet has the advantage of being a quick lightweight buggy when baby is older.

Zapp is the top one on
here

you can often get one much cheaper if you go for end of season colours etc.. so browse around

Thanks sorry misread as Buzz (dont know how!)

I like the look of the icandy cherry as it is rear facing but cant find prices and think it may well be out of our range....

Will have a look at the zapp.

Thanks again, sorry Im not trying to be awkward!

when pregnant with dd1 i burst out crying in mamas & papas saying "stop asking me what i want, i don't know, i don't even know what a travel system is!"

Sadly you can't buy the iCandy stuff new online. We paid £300 for the chassis, seat and carrycot. I paid extra for the footmuff and parasol. The car seat and base were purchased seperately.

You can get second hand kit on eBay. like this one, which includes the car seat and base.
