which maclaren?

I'm buying second hand, I want a small folding, comfy pushchair for just 4yo child, must recline a little, and must actually sit upright (have bought a triumph this avo from mothercare only to realise I'll have to take it back because what I thought was semi reclined, is in fact the most upright it will go!

Oh, and it has to be brown, as I already have an idea for accessories........
I'm thinking quest, and I have my eye on a pink apples, but does that do all of the above?

Quest is like the triumph but has a proper back rest and an adjustable leg rest, but at 4, your DD probably wouldn't use the leg rest.

If you're not fussed about 2nd hand, the old Ryders are lovely, and in brown. Or an XLR which is brown and pink, quite pricey new but loads of room.

Defo a Quest. I love mine and have had 2 of them. They recline and sit upright

Is the leg rest easy to put down? I tried a silver cross pop this afternoon too, but I found that the leg rest didnt fold down enough to enable DD to get her legs on the footrest, so a bit pointless really. I really liked the triumph as there is no leg rest. I wonder if I could rig something up to stop it flopping backwards. Theres a brown one 15 miles from me on preloved, used once............ tempting.

I don't think any umbrella fold sits bolt upright - they are all very slightly sloped (about 5 degrees off 90?) because an upright buggy would unbalance too easily.

The rods that hold the foot rest up retract back into the frame so much better for her. I have a Quest and it's lovely.

The triumph is very slumped though - the quest/xlr or ryder as 5in says. Yes the leg rests are very easy to adjust

yes the quest is much more upright than the Triumph! And the ryder and the xlr.

ahh good. I just bought the pink apples one off ebay for £80 posted. I'll take the triumph back this week.

i've had all the maclarens and triumph is the worst the seat is very very slumped.
