Bugaboo breezy/sun canopies - worth it?

finally sold my bee so the bee plus is now out to play :-). I bought a breezy/sun canopy thingy but now I've put it on I'm not sure if it'll actually get much use or is worth it??

Does anyone have one who can comment? Figure the cam version is similar so any bugaboo owners input would be fab!

Thanks

I've got the sun shade for the old style Bee - the one that looks like a silver armadillo!

Things I like: It fits right over the Bee so no continually readjusting parasol to make sure DS is in the shade when changing sides of road, footpath changes direction etc. There's an elasticated 'portal' bit so that I can put it down and still see DS if the sun is in the right direction.

Things I'm not so sure about: it still lets in some sunlight so if in direct sunlight then DS is shutting his eyes as it's too bright. I'm not sure how much the breeze gets through it so possibly hotter in the buggy - but then I leave the portal bit open to let the heat out. I'm not sure what SPF rating it is, so I still use suncream etc under it - but then I'd do that anyway with a parasol.

Hope that helps.

PS I just use it over the normal coloured canopy, I didn't bother to get one of the sun silver coloured canopies as well.

I would go for a more universal shade - a - babe which could be sold on to more people when you're done with it and is a bit cheaper.

Thanks cairn - the new one is a cross of the canopy and armadillo thing which means to use it you have to take the hood off... I much prefer the idea of being able to keep the normal canopy like yours. Interestingly, your downsides are exactly what I was thinking - bit this new one doesn't have a portal so once it's down you can't see ds at all which I'm not keen on. Dh was also worries that it would be super hot on there...

mama - good point and I did buy one of those first but I couldn't figure out how to attach it in parent facing mode so sent it back. You make me think I should maybe try other brands though as it seems like a good (and cheaper) compromise!

Thanks for the input!
