Bebe Confort Loola...HELP!!

Hello all

I just bought a Bebe Confort Loola from Ebay for DD3. I knew it was 2nd hand (finances are tight so needed quality without the cost!) When I arrived to collect it (after a 2 hour drive!) the house was lovely. Very clean home, lovely children, nice area etc so I was fairly confident.

The only thing is, I have a few q's and as I'm a virgin loola owner (!) I don't know if things are as they should be....

  1. the handles aren't solid iykwim. when pushing it, they sort of wobble from side to side slightly

  2. the seat unit itself seems a wee bit unstable. when laying flat the whole seat unit seems to be loose, and rocks a bit if I touch it or dd moves! DH thinks this may be normal to give it some flexibility.....??? I have visions of the unit falling off!

  3. when its collapsed theres nothing to keep the seat unit 'together' it just sort of flops everywhere! I thought there was a cord or something to secure it, or do I need to remove the unit every time?!

Have been round the whole thing and tightened the screw and bolts we could get to, but tbh, if its not how it should be, I'm tempted to just sell it on and use the money towards another.

Sorry to ramble but some help would be much appreciated!

    xxx

it does wobble a bit, it took me months to stop panicking when dc lent forward, but hes never come to any harm i promise.

i was told by mothercare its to prevent bits snapping [hmmm] but ive had mine 2yrs and im pretty happy with it, no other parent facers fold small and in one piece like it!

it flops a bit when folded, i keep it one piece as its easier, dp is fussy and wraps a bungy (sp) cord around it and that holds it nicely.

hth a bit xx

i had one from new with ds and yes, the handles felt wobbly, and yes, the seat also felt wobbly. can't remember what it was like when collapsed. i chose it because i liked the idea it would face both ways, and also as the handles swiveled, i could push with both hands and still hold on to dd's hand too (we practiced doing this in mothercare!)

however, i have to admit, it was not a good buy, and i very quickly went back to my old one. getting it up kerbs is not easy! looks nice though

The handles will be a little bit wobbly (if they're a lot wobbly it's because they've not been clicked in to place properly after being swivelled)

and yes to the other two questions too - sounds fine.

It's not a perfect pushchair by any means, but the fact that it's one of the very few that you can use parent-facing is what sold it for me.

I've got a loola up so I hope this applies....

The frame needs a good hard push down on the pedal (grey bit with grab handle in front of basket) to get the handles to lock otherwise they have a bit of 'play' in them.

There is a tab on elastic on the aforementioned 'grey bit with grab handle in front of the basket' which on the loola up hooks on to the handle bar. There is also a latch on the left side of the frame that clicks onto a peg further down on the frame (next to each other when folded).

The seat unit does have some rocking when used for a larger baby/child however it has taken my 3 y/o DD with out any problems (she was 1m tall and 16kg at the time so over the weight limit).

It also takes a buggy board nicely when the seat is parent facing.

They are generally all round wobbly the one I had was second hand, so one day DH stopped a new mum with tiny tiny baby in the street with one and asked if he could have a go of the pushchair it was very obviously brand new and no different to ours! they are wobbly. Mine def stayed shut but can't remember much about it in terms of folding

I think the Loola Up is slightly less wobbly than the Loola, but yes it does have a bit of "give". Would echo what TruthSweet said about make sure you have clicked them into place properly, sometimes they stick a bit and don't click properly.

My Loola was very wobbly so Mothercare returned to the manufacturer who tighted it up and it's much better now. It was still under guarantee so not sure if this is helpful. I also found the straps too short and again went back to M/care who contacted the manufacturer and arranged for replacement straps to be sent.

I've had my Loola for about 2 years and still think it was one of the better parent facing pushchairs available then (couldn't justify price of Bugaboo!) but there are many more available now.

Sounds all normal to me, mine is 4 months old an wobbles. I love my loola, I have a very unpractical car which I am stuck with so I was very limited with boot space the fact that the main part comes off the frame is fantastic.

Those of you with the Loola Up can you help me? Is it difficult/easy to push and get up kerbs especially when in rear facing cos I know the original Loola wasn't very good at this.
