Mountain buggy duet

So I'm looking for a double buggy (DD will be 20 months when DC2 is born, she would walk everywhere if she could but all the baby groups etc are about a mile and a half away and would take forever!). Ideally I would love the bugaboo donkey but budget says no (I've searched for second hand ones but the ones in my area aren't much cheaper than brand new!). Second choice is the mountain buggy duet with the new carrycot plus. Has anyone got any experience of it? My biggest concern is that the pushchair seat looks quite narrow and DD isn't particularly narrow! Any help much appreciated

Have you considered the out n about nipper double? It's a dream to push

I've got one and love it - I've not tried the New carrycot but the old one was quite narrow. The seats are fine unless they have a particularly puffy coat! I have a 3yo and 19mo fitting comfortably in mine. Can you get to a shop to try your DD in it?

Advantage over the out and about I'd that it's slim enough to get in out of a standard door without folding.

The nipper is only forward facing. Not sure if the carrycot option is rear facing or not. The fold on the mountain buggy was just too big for us, the nipper is a bit more compact folded

We have the old style mpuntain bugggy, our toddler is about 83cm and 13.5kgs he is a bit cramped in his snowsuit but thick waterproofs are fine. Im 5ft amd think the handle is a little high, oh is 6 ft and finds it very low.
Our toddler climbs ok but is at 20 months only just getting the hang of getting in and out alone as the step up is quite high.

It is great to be able to go through doors as they often sleep on the way home from nursey.

The air tyres are difficult to change (we have our compressor) and its almost impossible to push on a flat tyre. Maybe worth checking if your local bike shop stocks spares and chamges tyres. Although we dont live on a tarmac rd so are on veru rough terrain maybe not an issue where you walk.

Oops I meant rear facing!
Yeah the tyres are something I'm worried about, our current pushchair doesn't have inflatable tyres and not sure I can be bothered with the faff!
I'm 5ft 5 so hopefully the handle would be just right ??.

Yeah, I got a lot of flats so swapped for the solid tires (does cost extra) and they are much better.
