Bugaboo Bee 3- help and advice needed

I'm due in November so have decided to purchase the new Bee 3 based on trying out buggies in John Lewis. We wanted something easy and lightweight that'll last from birth for yonks.

John Lewis advised us on everything we need and we've ordered the buggy and just waiting for all the parts to be delivered.

We purchased the carricot that comes with the Bees now for our newborn. www.johnlewis.com/bugaboo-bee-3-carrycot-tailored-fabric-set/p1513206?navAction=jump

However one thing I noticed on the John Lewis website is that there is also a carricot base www.johnlewis.com/bugaboo-bee-3-carrycot-base-black/p1513197?navAction=jump

John Lewis never told us we needed this and I'm trying to avoid a trip back there simply to ask. I can't for the life of me work out if this is a strictly necessary purchase? Or will the carricot fix on the buggy without the base?

Anyone with any clue, please do share!

I admit I'm no expert, but from looking at those links I think you do need to buy the base. Otherwise you just have the sides of the carrycot!

At the bottom of the information for the carrycot sides you have ordered it says :

" Please note: this fabric must be purchased to complete the Bugaboo Bee 3 carrycot. Remember to buy the carrycot base and sun canopy which are sold separately."

Which seems to suggest you need the base...

Hopefully someone who actually has one will be along soon to confirm.

Yes, you need a base and fabric.
