Hi,

Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on a Baby Jogger City Mini Double. We've been offered one in fantastic condition from a friend, basically unused so pretty keen on buying it from them. Although it is a 2010 model, am I right in thinking the separate carrycot currently available doesn't work with this model? Is there a version of carrycot that does work? Would the car seat adaptors be the same? I've tried googling to much confusion. My DH will only go ahead with this buggy if there is either a car seat or carrycot option for our newborn and I just can't find an answer!

Thanks in advance wise buggy mumsnetters!

In the UK there isn't a carseat adaptor for the double irrespective of the year, there is a US one but it doesn't pass UK safety testing or something... tipping issue I believe. I think you're right about the carrycot too, 2011 onwards.. I'm not sure what's different about them though..

Compact carrycots can only be added on models from 2011 onwards. This is because the older doubles have conjoined hoods - ie if you remove the hoods you have two independently working hoods but joined together on one bar. From 2011 onwards the hoods are completely separate. Thus one can be removed to add on a carrycot (or both for two carrycots).

Parties is correct - there is no double car seat adaptor here in the UK. They haven't passed safety testing.

Oh thank you both, that makes much more sense to me now. So for a newborn I will have to lie flat and add a snuggly footmuff perhaps? Now to sell the idea to DH...

One more desperate question if that's OK... Do you know if the bumper bars that are sold separately would fit? Or is that a post 2011 thing only too.

I have a 2011 model but didn't bother with a carrycot. I bought a baby snuzzler from amazon very cosy and cumfy.

You would need a foot muff also depending on the season. My ds was born in August so I didn't bother until the winter. They are great because they supported his head and cacooned his body.

Op does your model have "D" rings? If so a graco carrycot would fit. I bought one of eBay but never bothered using it as you couldn't fold the buggy with it on so it took more room in the car .
