Phil amd Teds - random question

I have the newest model of the Phil and Teds Classic in Black.
I use it as a double, I do like it however my baby is only 4 and half months old but is massive.
I have to squash him into the newborn bit when my toddler is on the front in the second seat.
I realise I will have to switch it to having the second seat on the back soon but it does not look nice for such a young baby.
Does anyone know if any of the second seats from the models that recline will fit my pram?
Thank you.

Are you putting the baby into the cocoon or straight onto the seat? I presume its a similar design to the sport, where the main seat lies flat and the small seat goes on top for the bigger child to start with. when ds grew out of the cocoon I put him lying flat on the big seat wrapped in lots of blankets.

Even not putting him in the cocoon he doesn't have much space. He is tall as well as fat!

I found ours really awkward at that stage, it wasn't till the baby was about 6 months that he seemed comfortable. Not sure what the solution is, sorry!

I know that the sport back seat fitted on the E3, it is very possible that it would fit on yours too.

The recline on the sport seat is fairly minimal, but it does make it that bit better for a young baby. In theory you would only need the fabric...

I think the classic has the pin socket for the second seat? If so any of the reclining seats eg sport or hammerhead should fit but don't quote me on that because you really need to have both in front of you to try. Just bear in mind that they aren't safety tested for use as a mix and match! Phil&Teds really aren't the best doubles at this stage!

i loved my P&T when DD2 was a baby and DD1 was 2
i hated it when DD2 reached 5 months and couldn't fit in the cocoon
I loved it again a few months later when DD2 was in the front seat and DD1 was in and out of the rear toddler seat

so bear with it, you're in the phase when it isn't that great as a double. I would switch the seats around and put your baby in the front - you're meant to put the heaviest child in the front but it didn't work well for me like that.

Is it possible to put a car seat on the front with baby in it and the toddler in the back ? Unstable but ok if you keep a hand on it all the time. In about weeks you will be out of this awkward phase and baby will be happy in the back seat.

I found a bargain doubles kit on Ebay that reclines (Sport model) and it fits perfectly on my new pram! Hooray. Ordered a snuggly head hugger for baby IcedGems too :)
