HELP....trying to replace the foam on my P&T handlebar; got it halfway and it's now stuck fqast!

Any ideas?

I'm tarting up my P&T for sale and thought I'd replace the foam as there was a big chunk out of the original one. I used hairspray as advised by the customer services at Out'n'About, and have managed to wiggle it on about halfway, but it won't go any further. I've been at it for over half an hour and my hands, wrists and arms are now aching.....and the air is blue from my swearing at it!!! And irritatingly, it won't come off again now Angry

There must be a cheaty way, surely?

TIA Smile

Where did you get replacement foam from?

Need to replace mine too. No idea how to do it though, sorry

lol, got excited at a reply! I phoned Out'n'About who are the official UK distributor. They also supplied me with a hinge covers for it as there was a safety issue re fingers getting trapped in the hinge of the sport.

The foam cost £12 plus postage.

Doubt this would help but when changing the handlebar covers on the kids bikes, i used fairy WUL as a 'lubricant' and it was great

I hate P & T: we're flogging our double sport on ebay this week and I can't wait to get rid. The zips snapped on the main bit where you recline the seat, rang up, Customer Services and shop spent so long squabbling about who should help us and didn't know how to resolve the issue that the pram went out of guarantee. Now the exact same problem is being acknowledged on ther website! Crapola!

sorry for thread hijack, just wanyed to rant!

I'll try some washing up liquid thanks, littleducks Smile, it might help!

groak, we had various issues with ours when we bought it three years ago, and have had two replacement seat covers as the zip pulls broke and a seam came undone, a replacement doubles seat cover as it all came apart at the seams and a new hood as the velcro for attaching the windbreak thing came undone too. I managed to hold off replacing them until absolutely necessary though, so it's looking quite pristine for selling on and I have a spare main seat cover too!! We found the customer services to be brilliant though, we bought from the Norfolk Pram centre online and they contacted Out'n'About on our behalf. Just had to email pics to Out'n'About and they sent out the new parts without a quibble.

Those issues aside though, the replacements have been just fine and I loved using the pram on the whole. So sad to see it go though, as the doubles seat is a great basket for kids schoolbags and coats!

Phew...did it. took an age to get it off, then a squirt of washing up liquid inside, rubbed it around to coat the inside of the tube and it slipped on relatively Hmm easily! I now have the excess WUL dripping down inside the main seat tubes....it'll hopefully be gone on Saturday though, so not my problem!!

thanks littleducks Smile

Glad you got it sorted, thanks for the info. Sorry you got all excited Grin

Are they selling well on eBay then?

They usually hold their value really well. I'm selling mine at a local baby sale, and going for half of what I paid for it all as we really need to get rid as it doesn't get used. Although it's now all spruced and lovely and I'm having second thoughts!!

oh, and when you get yours...washing up liquid is the way to go; growl loudly at anyone who mentions hairspray Grin
