Right i am expecting DD2 in july DD1 will be 2.6m.

I bit the bullet and bought a britax b dual a while ago now as it was the only one i could find where the back seat was suitable from birth, as figured dd1 wouldnt be happy about being in the back!

DD has got better at walking this last few weeks and am thinking although the britax can be used as a single pram, it is huge and i dont particularly like it Grin

am now thinking maybe a i candy mite be a better option maybe the pear, am i right in thinking i can put a carseat or carrycot on the back and toddler in the front?

can this be used as a single pram as i know that if me and dh go anywhere dd never wants to go in the pram so it would be nice if i could just use one seat or carrycot.

Has anyone got any views/opinions on it, dd1 is petite but tall.

Tia

I'm almost certain you can put a carrycot or car seat on the Pear. It can be used as a single pushchair-it's called an Apple when in single mode. They also do one called a Peach/Peach Bloosom but I don't know much about it.

Here are icandy's pics of the apple/pear. The car seat and carrycot look like they can only face forward and then your DD1 will also be quite high up and the seat looks small but may not be.

Here are their pics of the peach blossom with car seat parent facing but carrycot forward facing. The front seat looks bigger than the pear but again I don't know.

Being utterly honest you need to try your eldest in the seats. At 2.6 years she's really at the upper end of the age range and the seats may be snug or short for her. Both can take a car seat or carrycot. The Peach carrycot is small and I often hear of babies only staying in it for three or four months. You also can't use the lower carrycot in the centre as a single. You would need to buy two carrycots. The Pear however only allows for seats to face in the same direction. Your eldest may well not want to face you for example. I love iCandys but given your eldests age I recommend you do go and try one out, and failing that scour every photo on the Internet and read as many reviews as you can. I have to say I think you would be much better off with a Baby Jogger City Select or sticking with the B Dual as it's excellent in tandem mode, and buying a cheaper single to use alone with the baby.

Nothing useful to add, but just to say I'm having exactly the same dilemma - I have an apple already and am wondering whether to shell out for the pip converter as ds will be 2.25 by the time baby appears and is already quite "anti-buggy" ...

My friend bought one of these and has found it massive and unwieldy. Her eldest is now 2.7 and she stopped using the icandy a few months ago because it was such a nightmare.
She uses a single buggy with a buggy board now.

My eldest is 2.10 and my baby is 6 weeks old. I've got a Bugaboo and a buggy board and we're finding that it works really well.
