Big baby growing out of Bugaboo carrycot

My 15 week old is a big baby and is almost too long for the carrycot of our Bugaboo (she's over 16lbs and on the 97th percentile). She's also very alert and loves looking around, plus has great head control. Is it too early to transfer our bugaboo into the seat, in the reclining position?

My DD was in the Bugaboo seat by 2 months...She hated lying down in the carry cot part and not be able to nosey...Only used Silver Cross pram until 2 months for the same reason until she could sit properly...DD had a very sturdy back with great head control...Years ago most babies were in bucket seats from birth as those type of buggies were all the rage...ie Silver Cross Wayfarer and Maclaren Dreamer/Super Dreamer.

Ds is the same! He's 15 weeks today and last week i changed from using the bugaboo carrycot to the seat unit. He seems alot happier in at as he can see all round about rather than a boring old hood!

My DD was the same too - to the point where she would scream until taken out of the carrycot!
We changed to the seat unit about 16 weeks, but used it fully reclined and with some padding in the concave bit. We used one of those wedge type things you use in the car seat when they're newborn to make the curve where they are lying more of a gradual one..does that make any sense ?!
That way, she could see around nicely without us being too concerned about her being too young for the seat.
