Sealing travertine?

I have a wall in our cloakroom which is about waist height and a ledge above it. i am looking to get the wall and ledge tiled. i have seen some cheap mosaic tiles on ebay which I'd like to use for this, but the tiles are travertine.

Does this mean that if I put anyhting wet on the ledge, or the wal gets splashed, eg. it will stain/mark? Do I need to seal them?

All the advice on the internet relates to travertine floors which would obviously get a lot more wear than a wall/shelf ina downstairs loo so any advice appreciated, thanks

Yees, I have it in my bathroom including in my shower.

I just used a very easily applied liquid sealant. As it is a high water area I redo it every year, or if I notice water is no longer 'beading' like on a freshly waxed car.

It does however slightly darken the colour of the stone, which irritated me a little.

Thanks Catalog, do you recall which brand sealer it was? There is a bewildering array of choice online and annoyingly they are all massive bottles- I will only need a small amount with it being such a small area.

Aw, thank you! Unfortunately i am in the North east, so that would be quite a round trip. Thank you anyway though, much appreciated.
