Decorating a bedroom - how much to get a man in?

Hi guys, I am looking to get a local handyman in to paint three walls, paper chimney breast, replace skirting boards and possibly wooden window sill in our medium sized bedroom.

Does anyone have ANY idea how much a job like this could cost?

Many thanks for your time.

£110-£150 a day in Leicestershire. But that is for professional carpenters/decorators.I'm not sure what a handyman would charge-maybe worth checking out ads in newsagent windows to find one?

We got our Polish neighbour who is a painter decorator in to paint our bathroom ceiling. He quoted £60. Great we thought, get it done. He ended up filling in all the dips and cracks in the walls and painting the entire room. Charged us £80 in the end. Will get him to do other jobs too.

Wow! You are lucky Alice!

We do have a fella across the road who works for a decorating company, it says on his van. Maybe I should approach him and ask him to do a foreigner for us.

Thanks for your replies ladies.

Hi girls, I thought it might help someone in the future doing a search on this so am back with update.

The handyman said it will take three days and to paint 2.5 walls, paper chimney breast and sides, replace window sill and replace skirting boards and gloss them #250 - 300.

Not too bad I think. He seems really nice too, so won't mind him around!

have a look at

www.mybuilder.com

you can post a job and get quotes
Could be worth doing just to get a comparison.
Sorry late notice when I know you have a quote already.
