They reduced the price and now its sold. Am really but not very surprised. I think that's the end of our house moving. We only put our house on the market in order to buy that one.

I feel really miserable today now and I just can't get on with anything.

Will have to start looking for care homes for my dad now as we can't leave him on his own much longer

Come and cheer me up!

Oh God I'm sorry. Just try to think that it wasn't meant to be...

Thats an awful feeling, poor you...

We were in a very similar position last year, when we were about to buy our dream house and our sale collapsed (November '08, of course). It definitely takes a while to recover from, but recover we did, and in the end we put our house back on the market.

A year later, our offer on a house we loved was accepted - and that evening the house from last year came back on the market! Very odd. It had gone up, though, and in any case we decided we preferred the second one...after all that...but wouldn't have believed it if anyone had told me last year.

Hoping time and distance make it less gutting for you too. And wishing you the best with the care home process - another hard, hard one. xxx

There are lots of house sales falling through where I am - you never know you may be lucky!! Good luck with finding something else though - there may well be more on the market after Christmas

Feel a bit better today

Am a bit tired of fighting everyone about how hard it would be to look after dad so we've decided to look at care homes now rather than all moving in together. It's really hard to know what he really wants.

Will have to look forward to decorating instead.

just got to pluck up the courage to phone the estate agent and take the house off the market now.

Glad you're feeling a bit better today. Don't give up hope - we lost our dream house at sealed bids a few months ago (we were suitably gutted) - and then got the nod recently that we could offer on it again as the sale had fallen through .

It wouldn't hurt to let the EA know that you would be interested in purchasing it if the sale falls through, although I guess that depends on whether you keep your house on the market or not.
