Depends on the size and what you want to put in it. It's well worth phoning round a number of companies to find the best price IME.

It's mainly for garden waste, plus other crap around the house. Mini skip will probably do it.

we paid £70 a few months ago for a thing they call a mini-skip put another way it held all of a ripped-out kitchen and a back garden worth of revolting walls

4 ton miniskip will cost £75-80

8 ton or builders skip 120-140

try googling a1 skip hire.

IF the skip is sited on a road you will be charged an extra £15.

nice one HA - and further to that, our experience went that if it is on a main road, - in our case it was more to do with it being a bus route and a "preferred" route for the fire engines - you have to get permission from the council to put it there

We had trouble finding a skip company who would take garden waste.

i don't understand why, but it cost us more to get one that would take garden waste.

I called a local skip company today - £130 +VAT for a mini skip , that's a lot of trips to the tip.

We had a HippoBag and it was great - 142 + VAT though (we had a 4.5 yd one). Very convenient though.

If you ask a gardener they might take it to the tip for you in a van for the cost of disposal (£50 ish ) plus a bit...

I'm based in Croydon and it's costing me £262 for a 6 cubic yard skip so count yourself lucky. I called 6 companies and they all quoted pretty much the same price
