Cheap but nice wall mounted/basin sink

Anyone have any ideas where I can find a cheapish (less than £100) sink - either wall mounted or a basin? Just want more of a statement/feature sink that a general pedestal sink, if that makes any sense?

TIA

Hi There,

I have bought a few bathrooms lately for projects I have worked on and I find Bauhaus are really stylish and reasonably priced. Best thing to do is find your local plumbers merchants and ask them for the brochure. They should have a brochure. Once you have decided on your sink negotiate a 20 to 25% discount off the retail price. This is fairly standard discount at the moment. You should be able to pick up a nice rectangular wall mounted sink for under £100 after discounts. They also do great taps under the name of Crosswater which is in a separate brochure. Hope this helps.

Hey KB71 thanks for the info! Have been super busy with work hence delay in replying. Looked at some bauhaus sinks and really like 3/4 of them which is good. How do I go about finding a plumbers merchant looked on yell.com and it just lists major retailers.

Also as you have done a few projects, what do you think looks best, completely wall mounted, or wall mounted with a sort of shelf underneath, IYSWIM?

Hi There,

Glad you like the Bauhaus sinks, they are great.

Probably the best way to find a plumbers merchants is to have a walk around your local town down the back streets. They tend to be small old fashioned stores that you just wouldn't normally notice but once you get in there they are an Aladin's cave with all the top brochures of bathroom brands. I know a couple of good ones in West London if that is any good to you.

With regards the shelf (or not) I think they can look great it just depends on how much space you have in your bathroom. If space is limited I would just go for a wall mounted sink but make sure you go for one with a decent size ledge at the back (where tap sits) so that you have space for toothbrushes, handwash etc. If you have plenty of space then put the wash basin on the shelf, it will look great. Bauhaus have some nice shelves that work with their basins. The shelf could then give you space for toiletries.

Best of luck and let me know if you have any others ideas you want to bounce.

Katherine.
