We really want an American 50's style kitchen in red. But we really don't know where to start looking.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As long as you are planning to stay there it is fine but for resale would be a nightmare. Are you looking for genuine vintage or just a regular kitchen with some diner style touches.

We're staying here. We just want to change the doors to red ones and some genuine vintage.

Get a local handyman to make new doors and find a true red paint/Chrome handles and accessories are quite easy to find atm.kitchen aid do a fab red blender. If you have room there are sets of tables and chairs on ebay which have a red laminate top and matching chairs.A neon bar sign would be good too.Black and white ceramic floor maybe or a good vinyl. If you have room a jukebox!

Thanks. I hadn't thought about painting the doors, I've been looking for ones.

Not sure what colour to paint the walls either.

White walls or very pale blue.A breakfast bar and red padded stools if you can't do a table

We have room for a table and have seen one we like.

I thought white walls but DH thinks it will look like a morgue.

Ruby, I didn't actually know that. How strange that red encourages hunger.
