And does it make a difference which room it is?

White wood chip walls - I'm so fed up of them from living in rented flats in Germany but I can't bring myself to change any of them as I just have to paint them white again when we move out!

Which room are you thinking of?

See having grown up in Germany I think of white walls as the norm really.

I'm thinking our bedroom and possibly the lounge.

white walls are great - means you can go all out with the accessories and stuff

I know when I come back to Germany from the UK I always think my place is so cold and bare - everyone has nice wallpaper and warm colours etc back home then you come back to plain white and it looks cold but on the other hand you can decorate with nice pictures that are easy to change, if you get fed up of the wall paper and colour then it makes hard work to change.

Beautiful, although bright white can be a bit stark IMO.

Chalky Downs number 6 (Dulux), however, is a perfect "white" wall colour (I was given the tip by an interior designer, its a copy of an expensive Zoffany paint and have I sinced used it pretty much everywhere in the house). It is warmer than white but not pinky/peachy like magnolia. It matches perfectly against almost any other colour, whether it be a feature wall of wallpaper (I have it with taupe in my lounge, black and white cole and son wallpaper in the hall and allover with sage tiles in the kitchen). It looks so clean next to white satin wood skirts/ doors etc.

Phew, didnt realise I felt so strongly about it!

Whole house is all white.

Lovely. Clean and calm.

My whole house is white. If the dc make dirty marks, especially on the walls beside the stairs, then all you need is a quick touch up.

I think white is really dreary (and can look very stark and unsettling) unless you have really good art to break it up.

Depends on aspect of room. Northern light can be very cold.
