Please help me decide between 2 garden quotes

I'm having difficulties deciding between these 2 quotes for garden landscaping, both quoted for same thing - new patio, artificial grass plus new wooden borders:

Quote 1
£400 cheaper than quote 2.
The guy was really nice and friendly, seemed reliable and came back quickly with his quote
However his business is fairly new and I haven't seen many photos of his work etc on his website

Quote 2
£400 more expensive than quote 1
Took a week to come back with quote
Established business and has been doing it for many years so there lots of photos of his work on his website which look impressive

I'm not sure whether it's worth paying the £400 extra to know what I'm getting or take a gamble on a newer business

Any help much appreciated!

Can you ask the cheaper guy to show you some more pics of his work?

If it was me, I'd give the new guy a chance. Probably more keen and will take more pride in his work.

It depends on the total quote tbh. If it is 800 vs 1200 (to clear some trees) I may be inclined to go with the cheaper guy. If it is £15,400 versus £15800 and something pretty big/tricky if it goes wrong, then I would suggest the cost is less of an issue and go with which ever you think will do the best job.

Who do you think you could work with best?

Can you ask the newer guy for some clients you could chat to/visit previous projects?

Double check both are fixed price quotes (ie that inexperienced on has not underquoted and then charges you more at the end.)

Get another quote and choose the middle one.
