Your thoughts on..... shower trays! <jazz hands>

Currently building and we are meeting with the plumber next week to discuss bathroom fittings.

Our rented flat has frankly disgusting plastic shower trays that were once white and are now creamy stainy rank. I hate them. Deeply.

But what are "good" shower trays? Are they ceramic? Stone? Can we get something tiled? I'd like something of good quality that I can keep clean as a whistle without too much effort (i.e periodically pour product over and swish around vaguely) and that won't crack or leak (obviously).

Also DH wants the shower room off the utility to be a wet room with a glass panel to designate the shower area. But they give me the heebee-jeebies due to visions of caravanning with the toilet getting sprayed by the shower and the floor being wet-of-unidentified-origin. But can they work well?

Any advice gratefully received!

We're buying all the stuff for two bathrooms now, like you hate white acrylic trays from previous experience. Have chosen a different ones for each bathroom:
1 - Simpsons stone resin 25mm
2 - Simpsons grey slate acrylic 35mm

We're planning to use one of those under tile drainage systems and then just tiling the shower. DH doesn't like the thought of a tray at all Confused slightly ot so not sure if my comment is helpful!

Yep I actually hate shower trays too and would rather have under drainage but we decided on LVT floors so can't. Hence the low profile / non white options

We have a stone one, it was in before we moved here, Dh said it was so good he just put new walls, shower and doors. It's 20 years old and it fantastic shape, looks like new.

We've got a Matki one. Had it for more than 10 years and still looks great
