cost of switching to electric heating?

Hello,
Anyone know the cost of switching from a gas boiler to electric heating? I've got a small one bed flat in North London, about 3 radiators in total. I've phoned a couple of companies and they're all being evasive ie not even a rough figure without seeing the property. How many thousands is this likely to be? Any advice appreciated

Thanks

Why do you want to switch to electric?

although electric is the most efficient form of heating, the way the pricing works means it will cost a fortune to run. Also if this is going to be a rental you'll put off tenants.

intrigued by "about three radiators"

Two and a half? Three and a quarter?

Long long complicated nightmare stories. Nutshell version: it's a new build, 10 years old, first floor flat, the flue is passing through the flat next door. I can't get a gas safety certificate, can't let it out without cert, can't reflue it because the only way out is through the neighbouring flat, else to pass it through my flat only - I'll not be granted permission as according to the service management company it'll spoil the aesthetic appearance of the property.

Ready to cry. Didn't count radiators, assuming it's 3...

IMO you should start by requesting permission for a flue on the external wall of your flat. Presumably all the other residents are going to have the same problem.

Have a look and see what the terms of the lease are, and if the words "unreasonably withheld" appear.

Yes that is what my dad is suggesting Piglet John, thank you. I'll start there.

PJ hits the nail dead centre as always.

worth the effort - it will be a bugger to let with electric heating.
