Kitchen tap question

We need to replace the brushed stainless steel finish Franke mixer tap in the kitchen. It's been there over 10 years and was pricey at the time, but it's corroded inside - the neck has snapped off and the 'water control reviver' is broken.

Any recommendations or things to avoid? The sink is 1 1/2 bowls and the previous tap had the control positioned centrally rather than to one side iykwim and I'm left-handed so sometimes things set up for right handed people are awkward for me. Budget is less than 150. If we can get something decent for under 100 that would be perfect and we need to decide and get something fitted quickly.

That's the one thing I would say is make sure the control in central as it's annoying to have to reach under the running water to turn the tap off. Also, we had a tap once that you could pull out the end bit from the fitting to spray it around the sink, which sounds great but was a bit of a pain because we had stuff in the cupboard below and when you go to push the hose bit back it it often unsettled the contents of the below cupboard. Also, make sure there is enough space between your sink and the tap so you can get larger pans in to wash them.

Thanks for that Monkey - I think I'm going to go with an Astracast one I've seen.

I rate abode taps - we had one in our old house & we've got one again in this kitchen this one in brushed steel.
Well made simple designs, last well & mine at least have been easy to clean.
