Tell me about shower board/ wet walls

In the process of renovating our new house and have a bathroom and shower room to fit out and decorate. I have seen shower boards in show rooms but just wondering how they fare in 'real life'. Does anyone have this in their bathroom? Did you use it only in the shower or elsewhere instead of tiles? Any recommendations for places to buy from (online or otherwise)? Given the choice would you use it again? What colour scheme did you go for?

As you can tell I am a bit clueless Shock but trying to get as much info as I can!

Thanks

We had it in our old house, and will be getting it for here.

It's really effective when fitted properly, looks clean and fresh. We had this one:

Wetwall

It's not as glittery looking in real life; would highly recommend

We haven't had it in our home but would certainly consider that type of think. Huge advantages over tiles.
I know people for whom money is no object and have repeated chosen this sort of product for their bathroom.

If and when we refit our bathroom we will probably avoid tiles. We would consider something like this or marble or granite. I am thinking marble will be hard work to look after whereas granite is low maintenance for the lazy housewife (that's me!)

I had this put in my new bathroom four years ago and love it. I am slovenly by nature and rarely have to clean it. Still looks as good as new.

My walls are white. Much better than tiles with grotty greying grout. Smile

Thanks for the replies. I think I am definitely going with this but find it hard to envisage it around bath/sink. There are also far too many colour choices-I need an interior designer as feel a bit rubbish at this Hmm

We've had ours 4 years and would definitely get it again over tiles and grout. We've got black pixels and the rest of the walls are white.

DD and SIL have this in their flat and are pleased with it. It looks nice as well.

Yes do people put same round bath and sink or use something else?

I intended to use this for the bathrooms in my extension. However when I went to see it I didn't like it. Reminded me of the interior of a caravan.
