Bespoke Painted Kitchen - Scotland

Work is about to start on our much awaited extension. I really want a hand painted traditional kitchen with Falcon range and granite worktops. However I am struggling to find what I want in budget.

I can't afford Chalon, Mark Wilkinson, Plain English. I like the look of Devol but they don't have any showrooms up here. Most of the online suppliers are based in southern England and I would really need to see the products before buying.

We got an estimate from David L Douglas who is fairly local to us but I think this may end up rather expensive once we factor everything in.

I keep coming across Neptune which looks too good to be true. Has anybody had any dealings with them? We are going to try to see them at the weekend.

The extension will turn this into our forever home so I don't mind paying for quality but I need to get it right. Also I am struggling to visualise how it will all look as the kitchen will be in the extension with the existing kitchen turned into a sitting room.

So in summary does anyone know where I can get a hand painted wooden kitchen with granite worktops in central Scotland for around £20k.

That isn't a huge budget for what you want my magnet kitchen with granite worktops cost that. Have you looked at Ashley Ann in perth? They might be able to help.

I looked at Neptune too but at the end of the day went with Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch www.handmadekitchens-direct.co.uk/ . The showroom is completely the opposite end of the country from you so no good if you really must see one ( although maybe they would put you in touch with someone near you who had one of theirs??). But it was a better product for the money that Neptune - made to any exact size you require, solid construction, and they sorted out a mistake in the order within days. They don't do a design service as such so you have to look around and get all your ideas and measurements together yourself.

You have to paint it yourself, but ours was £4k + £2k + £1k fitting (own builder) for composite worktops + appliances. It's not even painted yet and it looks fabulous. Pull out internal oak drawers, corner system etc.

Sorry:
£4000 for units (inc VAT and delivery)
£2000 for composite stone worktops inc VAT, templating fitting
£1000 builders to fit units
£1850 for range cooker
£300 extractor
£450 for sink and tap

so less than £10k for the whole lot (although will have to do own own painting)

There's a supplement on kitchens in this month's Homes & Interiors (Scotland) with some decent info. Bought my copy in M&S but pretty sure it's available everywhere.

They mention Callerton (nationwide), Callum Walker interiors (Perth); Cameron Interiors (Glas & edin), Crosby Kitchens (Aberdeen), Clive Christian (Glas) ,David Douglas (Dunfermline), ... actually there are loads. Probably not much help listing them all but maybe worth picking up a copy.

Where in Scotland? I used a company from East Kilbride, they supplied and fitted solid wood painted cabinets and recommended the granite company they work with. If you want their details, let me know ill pm you.

I don't know if they'll do Scotland, but I'm currently pricing up a kitchen from Pineland.co.uk
I'm in Manchester and they've an office in Northwich.
They're very good - just done me a free, hand drawn plan, sent me a full price list (very transparent pricing) and seem to be really reasonable. Can provide a range of finishes, including spray painted in any farrow & ball colour you choose for 25% on top of the plain sanded price. So far so good, and will likely go with them. They make a bespoke kitchen very affordable!
I would LOVE a Falcon!
