Would this look Ok in a bathroom?

I have made an error with my bathroom design and am wondering if there is a solution. I can think of a solution but not sure if it would work.

We are having tiles 107cm up the wall. We are then having a wall unit put in that is 35cm wide and 100cm high. Unfortunately have only just realised that with a ceiling height of 210cm this is going to look awful.

Would it be possible to hang the cabinet part way over the tiles or would this look hugely crap and how would we manage to hang it like this if the tiles are sticking out from the wall.

Any ideas would be gratefully received. I have spent so long planning this bathroom and it is all paid for now so am furious with myself for making such a stupid error.

Are you concerned about the three cm gap at the top of the cupboard if i'm interpreting this right?

If so could you top the cupboard with a 3 cm moulding or plain painted trim yo make it flush to ceiling?

No, I'm concerned that the cabinet will look like it has been squeezed into the remaining gap between the tiles and ceiling. I didn't intend for it to have to be so high up and will be difficult to get things out from the top.

Can't you hang the cabinet then tile around it?

Ah, that's an idea!

The bottom of the cupboard at 107cm high isn't very high, thats 17 cm higher than a kitchen work surface so lower than a typical kitchen wall cabinet.

Yes, but the top of it will be 2 metres high!! I can imagine things getting stuck on the shelf for years without me noticing!

Can you not change the tile height? If it hasn't been laid already then you may be able to send a box back and get some £ off :)

The tiles are 25cm high so its either 82cm high (below the tap/sink level) or the 107cm.

I think it would be fine above the tiles, I agree with MisforMum, it doesn't sound high for a bathroom cabinet. You can hang it lower by making the top holes attach to a wood batten the same depth as the tiling. My own thinking is to avoid anything that damages tiles as they tend to need to last longer than fittings (mirror cabinets, towel ring etc) that can be replaced as they get shabby or tarnished.
