Have you used f&b borrowed light?

I am thinking about it for DSs bedroom, does it look good? What colour ceiling/woodwork?

The f&b website seems to suggest all white but am not sure if this is very stark

I used it in Ds's nursery. Two walls of borrowed light and two walls of F & B white tie. It looked lovely and soft not stark at all. I found a lovely Peter Rabbit toile de jouey in the same colours that I used for accessories. It was a lovely colour scheme and lasted for four years just by updating the accessories over time. We've only now just redecorated and now three of DS's walls are Lulworth Blue with wallpaper on the third. Yes, the cardinal sin of a feature wall but DS loves it Grin

Sorry meant to say woodwork and ceiling we just went with a brilliant white satin so add a bit of sheen and light.

Thanks v much. Mmm am tempted to just dulux the ceiling if we're going white.

If you're going to use Dulux white on the ceiling, try using a Dulux on the walls. Dulux Clouded Sky is very close to Borrowed Light, and will go better with Dulux white.

I wouldn't mind trying borrowed light. But thought it might be a bit 'cold' for a bedroom. Is it?

greyvix · 15/11/2012 20:22

I have used it, and it is not a cold blue. It's very subtle, and has a soft grey hue. I painted over a normal light blue, and was very excited about the change, although nobody else noticed!
It is light without being stark. I love it. We went for plain Dulux white everywhere else, and it is a nice contrast.

Thanks greyvix. I might give it a try. It will be after Christmas now though!

We have it in our bedroom (all the walls) with Dulux trade white on the coving, ceiling and woodwork. It is definitely not a cold blue - but ours is a light filled room (4 huge windows).

Thanks all, just ordered it. Have gone for modern emulsion as its DS's room and may need wiping regularly.

Used it in DTs room, walls in Borrowed Light and woodwork in Strong White, absolutely lovely.

We have just used Borrowed light for DS's room, it's beautiful.

Have just used Crown brilliant white for the woodwork.

Conflugenglugen · 16/11/2012 21:01

Yes, I did. A beautiful blue shade.

Conflugenglugen · 16/11/2012 21:02

It's not cold at all. Very subtle.
